Illness forces Kennaugh to miss Giro

by isleofman.com 6th May 2014
Peter Kennaugh has been forced to pull out of the Giro d'Italia.
The Manxman had been gearing up for a key role with Team Sky in the race, one of cycling's three Grand Tours.
But a statement from Team Sky says an illness Kennaugh suffered at the end of last month has meant he hasn't been able to complete vital training ahead of the Giro.
He's been replaced by Chris Sutton.
Kennaugh says he's disappointed to be missing the Giro as it's one of his favourite races, adding that a lot of friends and family had been planning to pop over to Belfast for Friday's start.
