Peel Group buys Liverpool Airport

There’ll be a real Manx connection to Liverpool Airport after a Manx businessman’s company announced it’s buying it outright.

John Lennon Airport was already 35 per cent owned by the Peel Group – but today announced the investment company is to buy the remaining 65 per cent.

The change of ownership is effective immediately

Matthew Thomas, Liverpool airport’s chief executive, says the site is a key part of Peel’s planned Ocean Gateway programme, which will see ?50 billion invested in the North West.
