This weekend Beach Buddies will be joining the nationwide MCS (Marine Conservation society) Big Beach Clean with an event starting at 10am at Castletown Bay (near Hango Hill).
Anyone taking part qualifies for a free ?5 voucher from M&S who are sponsoring the event. This event has been supported previously be Beach Buddies in Douglas, but this year we persuaded them to choose another beach, and Castletown will certainly have lots more rubbish than Douglas!
It’s an earlier start than usual, but the same rules apply as normal and we’re hoping to possibly recruit some new volunteers who are always warmly welcome. We provide all the equipment (supplied by DoI and WDS Ltd, with further support from SITA) and the new Sandy Bairstow trailer is proving to be fantastic, and will be used to remove the rubbish collected afterwards, recycling where possible.
To qualify for the ?5 voucher you must firstly register at the MCS website which is easy to find via google.
