MHK criticises "politics of panic"

by isleofman.com 23rd April 2014
The Government needs to stop panicking people unnecessarily and sort out the real issues.

That's according to Michael MHK Alf Cannan, who believes the current focus on the National Insurance Fund is misguided.

He says reports show that fund, which is currently valued at ?650 million pounds, will rise to over two-billion before seeing a rapid decrease.

He thinks pensioners and those nearing retirement age are being worried without real cause by statements from some ministers about the state of that fund.

But Mr Cannan says there are some problems which need addressing urgently.Clip 1
