Staff at Nationwide International walked for miles, baked cakes, packed supermarket shopping bags and gave a total of hundreds of hours of their time to raise money for their chosen charity of the year.
A year's worth of ideas by the staff has now resulted in a ?2,000 cheque being donated to Hospice Isle of Man which was recently handed over at the company's office.
Nationwide International's staff took part in various in-office fund raising activities, ranging from baking cakes to sell to colleagues, to novelty raffles to celebrate special occasions such as Valentine's Day and Christmas.
Together with numerous activities outside of the office, such as bag- packing and taking part in the Hospice Midnight Walk and collecting generous donations from competitors at the annual Nationwide International
golf day, the staff were able to collect sufficient to make a substantial donation to their chosen charity for the year.
Mary Doyle, head of fund raising as Hospice, said, "Nationwide have been brilliant supporters of Hospice for many years, and it was wonderful that they chose us for their annual charity during the last year.
"They came up with loads of imaginative ideas, and they tell me they all enjoyed themselves at the same time, which is even better. They did a great job and we are very grateful for all their efforts."
The fund raising events also included selling Hospice lapel badges in the branch office in St George's Street, Douglas, dress-down days and any number of raffles, when a member of staff came up with a good idea!
"I have to say the staff have shown a real talent for coming up with ideas," said Nationwide International marketing manager Seamus Byrne.
"There seemed to be something happening all the time - there was no shortage of suggestions, and everyone enjoyed themselves at the same time.
"We are delighted to support Hospice in this way. There was 100% support amongst the staff for making Hospice our chosen charity of the year, and we were very pleased to have raised a substantial donation."
