A revised timetable is being introduced for Sunday lunches and teas on the Dining Car.
 
Departure times for Sunday lunches on the Steam Railway's Dining Car have been brought forward for operational reasons.
 
Head chef Steve Quirke explained: 'Our Manxman Sunday lunches and afternoon teas are high quality fine dining experiences and we needed longer than anticipated to serve our 3 course lunch to a full train maintaining those standards. We have worked with Isle of Man Railways to ensure the revised times will enable us to deliver the full Dining Car experience without compromising on quality. Everyone who has made a booking has been contacted and informed of the new departure times and we're grateful for their understanding.'
 
Sunday lunches now depart Douglas at either 11:55 or 12:10 while afternoon teas depart at 16:10, later than previously advertised. Full details below. Boarding is 30 minutes before departure of Dining Car services.

Sunday departure times of the Dining Car
On 4 and 25 May, 8 June, 6 and 20 July and 3, 10 and 24 August 2014, the lunch train departs Douglas at 11:55 for Castletown, returning by 14:45.
 
On 11 May, 15 and 22 June and 14 and 28 September, when timetable R is in operation on the Steam Railway, the lunch train departs Douglas at 12:10 to Castletown, returning by 15:00.
 
Afternoon Tea on the Dining Car
Available on 11 May, 15 and 22 June and 14 and 28 September, tea trains depart Douglas at 16:10, for Ballasalla, returning 17:30.
 
Afternoon tea is ?25 per person including a selection of sandwiches, cream scones and cake. Family tickets are available at ?60 for a family of two adults and two children up to age 15.
