Just one Beach Buddies session over the Bank Holiday weekend

by isleofman.com 17th April 2014

Beach Buddies will hold just one team session this weekend - on Easter Monday morning at Blue Point, which still needs a lot of debris to be cleared away.

Easter is a family holiday weekend, and we appreciate that most people will be involved in all sorts of events with the family and church, so please enjoy the holiday - and the forecast of some pretty good weather.

However, if you listen to the national TV news they are all predicting a rotten weekend of weather - surprise, surprise! That's because the forecast for London is not good, and if the forecast for London is not good then they don't care what's happening elsewhere! The television and radio stations (based in London!!) do this all the time - it can be snowing and freezing in the Isle of Man and sunshine in London at the same time, but the TV forecasters say it will be "beautiful".

And, for us in the north over Easter, it looks like it's going to be pretty decent (despite the fact that it will be pouring down in London). Guess what they said on the weather forecast tonight? Doom and gloom . . .

For the Isle of Man, we will have a nice weekend, but Easter Monday is not the best day, but it makes most sense to leave our cleaning session until then, after the weekend's activities will be mostly over - by which time we hope you will all be dying to get going!!

Meet at 10.30am at the Blue Point car park - and we'll have one of the "Beach Buddies Big Beach Bins" on display temporarily for volunteers to view for themselves and see what it's all about.

Bring your friends along too - we are hoping to have a BBQ at the end of the session. BYOB !!

Have a great weekend !!
