Fire investigations continue

by isleofman.com 17th April 2014

The owners of JAKS bar and steak house are assessing the damage caused by a major fire at the premises last night.

The building was evacuated after a fire that, it's believed, started in a utility room. The building quickly filled with smoke and electricity supplies were disconnected, affecting a number of other premises on Loch promenade. JAKS will remain closed while the extent of the damage is assessed.

Manager Darren Walker said: 'All clients and staff on the premises at the time were evacuated safely; no-one was injured. The directors of JAKS and their staff would like to thank the Island’s emergency services for their help, and their loyal customers and friends for their messages of support received during the last few hours.'
