Yarn bombing plans in final stage

by isleofman.com 15th April 2014

Plans to attack Peel with yarn are reaching the final stages.
Since the start of the year a group of knitters have been meeting every week and creating a variety of woolen graffiti which is going to be placed all over the town at the start of next month.
It is known as yarn bombing, and is thought to have started in the United States when some Texan knitters wanted to find a creative way to use their leftover and unfinished knitting projects.
The Peel "attack" will form part of the Western Open Studios and Arts Trail over the first May bank holiday weekend.
One of the organisers Rosie Wood says a great deal of time and effort is going into the creations.
She is appealing to the Peel community to support the event in any way they can.
