There is an Easter eggstravaganza of events lined up at the Family Library in Douglas for the school holidays.

Throughout the fortnight, April 12-26, there will be fun activities at the library.

In addition, there are a number of special events during the school holidays.

Next Wednesday, April 16, sees the Big Bunny Birthday Bash from 10.30am to 11.30am, when visitors can offer their felicitations to Bumble Big Ears and Robbie, son of Ralph, who at four feet is reputed to be the biggest rabbit in the world!  Robbie is no shortie, either, already measuring two feet!

On April 23, there is an Easter cupcake decorating session from 10.30am-12.30pm. It is open to all ages on a drop-in basis and entry is ?2 per person.

Meanwhile, on April 24, professional animator Gary Myers will be holding a workshop from 12.30pm-2pm on how to compose a classic three panel strip, the kind you see in newspapers (such as Garfield and Peanuts). Children will be able to tell a joke or small story with pictures and text. It’s ?5 to book a place – contact the library on 640650,.

The following day, April 25, there is a free magic show – suitable for all ages – from 10.15am to 11.15am.

Librarian in charge Mary Cousins said: ‘We’ve got lots of egg-cellent entertainment taking place throughout the Easter school holidays – and of course there are thousands of books, plus CDs and DVDs for library members to borrow.

‘We’d love to see lots of people calling in. You can also keep in touch with what’s happening by visiting our Facebook page or our website www.familylibrary.co.uk’

The Family Library is next to the children’s playground in Westmoreland Road, Douglas.
