Manx Telecom hosts voice technology event

by isleofman.com 9th April 2014

The advantages of the latest voice technology systems for business were the focus of an event hosted by Manx Telecom. More than 35 business customers attended The Forum, Mount Havelock, Douglas, for presentations about Red Box Recorders, Mitel Networks, and Manx Telecom’s own Intelligent Voice solution.

Manx Telecom Product Supervisor Andy Petterson gave a presentation on Intelligent Voice explaining the advantages the VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) system offers when compared to a business using an in-house PBX exchange. While a traditional PBX system can cost thousands of pounds to purchase and maintain, the capital expenditure with Intelligent Voice is minimal. It also gives significant savings by comparison and has features which make the system much more flexible than a site-based phone system as it can be tailored to suit business needs.

John Taggart, UK and Ireland Sales Manager for Red Box Recorders, explained the role Red Box technology can play in compliance, training and customer service. Paul Brazier, Mitel Channel Account Manager, gave a presentation on the Mitel MiVoice Office system which has the flexibility to be adapted for businesses with two to 250 users. Following the presentations – held on April 2 – guests were treated to coffee, pastries and a buffet lunch which gave them a chance to network and discuss the presentations with the experts from all three companies. A prize draw for a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 was won by Adrienne Thompson.

Voirrey Barron, Manx Telecom’s Marketing Communications Manager, said:

“This event was an excellent opportunity for some of our business customers to see presentations from leading experts in the field of voice technology, including our own specialists. We’re grateful to the support from Red Box Recorders and Mitel, and all of the guests who attended.”
