Prominent local charity, Manx Cancer Help, will host its first ever Golf Day on Thursday 19th June, with support from its patron James Toseland and Microgaming.
The AM-AM competition - one of Manx Cancer Help’s flagship events in 2014 - is being held at Mount Murray Golf Club and is open to teams of four golfers at a cost of ?300 per group. Teams will also have the opportunity to win a brand new MINI One in the hole in one competition, backed by Buchanan MINI. The event will culminate in a prize presentation and dinner at Mount Murray, including a raffle for a small number of quality items.
After a hearty breakfast, teams will tee off at 10am with a shotgun start, including one group led off by Superbike World Champion and keen golfer James Toseland. James has been a patron of Manx Cancer Help since 2011 and says he’s delighted to be involved in the event: ‘I enjoy playing golf so was naturally very keen to take part in the competition, especially as it’s one of Manx Cancer Help’s key events this year. Hopefully the Island’s golfing community and businesses will get involved and help raise vital funds for the charity.’
Douglas-based online gaming software developer Microgaming is proud to be supporting the inaugural Golf Day. Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming says: ‘Manx Cancer Help is a fantastic local charity that relies solely on public donations and fundraising events. With a brilliant day of golf planned, I hope this event raises a huge amount of money for such a worthy charity.’
Manx Cancer Help Fundraising Events Co-ordinator, Ally Martin, said: ‘We’re really grateful to Microgaming for sponsoring this event and we’re especially looking forward to making our first ever golf event a big success!’.
