Influence of Knox widespread on 150th anniversary of his birth

by isleofman.com 9th April 2014
One of the most influential - but undersung - artists the Island has ever produced.
Archibald Knox was born 150 years ago this week.
A number of events are taking place to mark the milestone, including the unveiling of a prestigious blue plaque at the address of his former home and studio in Athol Street Douglas.
Meanwhile, a special concert will be held at St German's Cathedral in Peel this evening with specially commissioned music and talks about Knox.
Culture Vannin will also sponsor an exhibition of his work at Olympia Earls Court in London next month.
The organisation's Breesha Maddrell says Knox was a forward looking artist who's work is reflected in a myriad of ways today.
The concert at St German's will take place at 7.30pm. Tickets are ?5.Clip 1
