Open skies policy to be debated

by isleofman.com 1st April 2014
Several prominent Island business leaders are preparing to argue their corner in what's expected to be a lively exchange of views on the pros and cons of open skies this week.
The Junior Chamber of Commerce is staging a debate around the motion "This house believes the Isle of Man government should abandon the open skies policy in order to protect vital business and leisure routes for local residents".
Former CEO of Manx Airlines Terry Liddiard and John Webster of Manx Business Connection are proposing the motion.
Arguing against, in the other corner will be chief executive at the Department of Economic Development Chris Corlett and former Manx Telecom boss Chris Hall.
It all takes place this Thursday evening, April 3, from 6pm at the Palace Hotel in Douglas.
The event is sponsored by ILS Fiduciaries whose chief exec Chris Eaton will be in the chair.
He told Marian Kenny the audience can get involved:Clip 1
