FPL Recycling Ltd has been prosecuted for unlicensed deposit and disposal by burning of controlled waste at their site off Stoney Mountain Road, Foxdale; as well as for placing false adverts in the IoM Examiner and Manx Telecom phone book and business directory.  On 3rd March 2014 FPL Recycling Ltd, having pleaded guilty, was fined including costs to a total of ?17,000.  
 
Businesses are advised only to dispose of controlled waste (household, industrial and commercial waste) to appropriately licenced sites otherwise they may also be guilty of a criminal offence. A list of licenced sites is provided on the Department’s web site:
