Respected financial journalist Merryn Somerset Webb will visit the Isle of Man on April 3rd to address special guests at a breakfast briefing organised by Island stockbroking and investment firm Ramsey Crookall.
The invitation-only event, at the Mount Murray Hotel, is due to be attended by Treasury Minister Eddie Teare, Ramsey Crookall clients and senior executives from leading Isle of Man businesses.
The audience will have the opportunity to hear from one of the leading market commentators and financial journalists as she talks about the current economic and market conditions, with special reference to the Island’s relationship with the EU.
Merryn is the Editor-in-Chief of MoneyWeek, the UK’s best-selling financial magazine. She has led the magazine since launch 14 years ago, and also writes a weekly column for the Financial Times, and a monthly column for Saga magazine. She is a regular television and radio commentator and speaker on financial matters, and contributes to publications from the Spectator and Prospect to Woman & Home and Libertine.
The former equity broker is also the author of 2007’s Love is Not Enough, a personal finance book aimed at women, and also appeared as co-presenter of the Channel 4 series Superscrimpers in 2011.
Ramsey Crookall CEO Joanna Crookall said: ‘We are delighted to have secured Merryn for this briefing, which will provide a fascinating insight into the markets today. It will also give our guests a chance to hear an expert view of the Isle of Man’s relationship with its European neighbours, and how it is perceived by influential financial industry figures.
‘We will also be able to give our guests an update on developments here at Ramsey Crookall as we continue to deliver the trusted and high quality services we have become renowned for since being established in the Isle of Man almost 70 years ago.’
