Top ranking & global recognition for law firm Cains

by isleofman.com 18th March 2014

Isle of Man law firm Cains and six of its leading advocates have been awarded top rankings in the internationally recognised 2014 Chambers Global guide.

The annual guide, which lists the year’s outstanding achievements by leading lawyers and law firms on a global wide basis, has given Cains the ultimate accolade of Band 1 rankings in both Corporate & Finance and Dispute Resolution.

It also gives ‘notable’ recognition to dispute resolution litigators Seth Caine, Peter Clucas, Robert Colquitt, Lindsey Bermingham and Gillian Christian.

Cains managing director Andrew Corlett, is ranked as an “eminent practitioner” and described as being “held in high regard by market sources for the quality of his work in relation to asset  finance and mutual funds”.

Richard Vanderplank, who is given Band 1 ranking, is described in the guide by one market source as a “superb corporate lawyer”.  He recently assisted Fairbank Private Bank with reorganising its Isle of Man and Jersey operations.

Mr Corlett said: “I am very pleased for all Cains staff that we continue to be recognised by the prestigious Chambers Global for the excellence of our work.”

The world famous Chambers Global is regarded as a leading and well respected international directory of lawyers.  It not only recognises notable achievement and outstanding work but also entrepreneurial spirit and expansion during the preceding year.
