Appleby shortlisted in 'Chambers Global Awards 2014'

Appleby has been shortlisted as “Offshore Firm of the Year” by Chambers & Partners in the “Chambers Global Awards 2014”.

In naming Appleby a finalist, Chambers recognised the groups prominent network of offices globally, its reputation as a leading offshore provider of legal services, particularly in relation to multi-jurisdictional mandate, and its strength in litigation and asset finance. The organisation also called specific attention to Appleby’s recent representation of Alibaba.com in its privatisation through a scheme arrangement under Cayman Islands company law.

Sean Dowling, Managing Partner in Appleby (Isle of Man) LLC, said: ‘Nomination for this prestigious award is an endorsement of Appleby’s position as a leading provider of offshore legal services through its extensive network of offices around the world. As an important part of that network, everyone here at the Isle of Man office is delighted by the nomination which is also an acknowledgement of the hard work of the individual global offices, including our own.’

Chambers Guides have been ranking the best law firms and lawyers since 1990, and now cover 185 jurisdictions throughout the world. The Global Awards 2014 draw upon the extensive research which goes into the Chambers Global, including contributions from all Chambers regional guides, and recognises notable achievements in the international legal market over the past year. Winners will be announced on March 27.
