Manx firm buys Stobart group

A Manx company is to buy a controlling stake in what’s probably Britain’s most famous haulier.
The Stobart Group is selling 51 per cent of its trucking business to Douglas-based investment firm DBAY in a deal worth around ?280 million.
DBAY will pay ?195.6 million in cash for Eddie Stobart Logistics and take on ?41million of debt
The sale means the new Manx owner can use the iconic Eddie Stobart brand free for four years, before negotiating a licensing deal.
