New Head of Group Business Development, Africa for Standard Bank

Sandra McAuliffe, has been appointed to the new role: Head of Group Business Development, Africa, within Standard Bank’s International Personal Banking division.  Reporting to the CEO, Isle of Man, Sandra’s appointment is a further strengthening of the African focus for Standard Bank’s Isle of Man business.

Sandra was previously a Senior Project Manager within the Bank’s Change team, working with colleagues in Africa to identify new opportunities for Standard Bank’s International Personal Banking capabilities, which are located in the Isle of Man. Commenting on her appointment, Sandra said:  ‘There is so much potential in the African region and as Standard Bank has its roots in the continent it’s natural that we increase the collaboration with our colleagues on the ground in Africa. This is an exciting time to be involved with Standard Bank and Africa, and in this new role I am eager to ensure Standard Bank meets the needs of an increasingly internationally-focused and aspirational client base, within its strong African franchise .’

CEO, Isle of Man, John Coyle said: ‘We are looking forward to Sandra taking on this new role, as she has already proven her wealth of experience in project management, strategic planning and business development. Standard Bank is Africa’s largest bank and through closer collaboration with our colleagues in the group, we hope to provide tangible benefits to clients as well as to grow our Isle of Man business significantly.

In her spare time Sandra likes to go for walks around the Isle of Man and also swims and practices Pilates. She has two children and lives in Douglas.
