SMP Partners will be represented at the leading Asia e-gaming conference next month.
Business Development Director David Hudson and Lorna Coniglio-Burrows, who was recently promoted to Senior Manager and Head of Gaming Development, will travel to Macau for the iGaming Asia Congress.
The three-day event, Asia’s official conference and expo for interactive sports betting, gambling and lotteries, brings together major names from the gaming industry in the region and provides a comprehensive overview of the business strategies and marketing tactics of operators in Asia.
As a dominant name in the Isle of Man’s e-gaming sector, actively managing half the Island’s licensed gaming operators, it is vital for SMP Partners to attend such global events to meet existing clients and potential new business partners.
Mr Hudson explained: ‘Our portfolio of licensed gaming operators and software providers already includes a large number of Asian-facing gaming operators, so iGA 2014 is an invaluable opportunity to meet up with them and deliver news on the latest developments for SMP Partners and the Isle of Man to decision-makers in the region.
‘Conferences like this allow us to continue dialogue with our clients, professional intermediaries and principal figures from the gaming industry in person, as well as meeting new business prospects. In most cases these meetings will follow weeks, if not months, of preparatory work by our highly skilled gaming team.
‘It is also a chance to learn about new game developers and operators, discover how regional and global regulation changes are affecting Asia and determine which markets will see emerging business in the coming year.’
He added: ‘Asia is a key market for e-gaming, and it is important the Isle of Man is strongly represented at major conferences like this, so we can maintain our existing business and continue to grow the industry.’
Isle of Man Government representatives and other members of the Island’s e-gaming industry are also due to attend iGA, which runs from March 4th to 6th.
SMP Partners’s 23-strong gaming team, which now looks after 50% of the Island's licensed gaming companies, provides professional services to the e-gaming industry in the Isle of Man.
SMP Partners has successfully guided many of the Island’s licence applications through the licensing process. In addition to a dedicated gaming team, a number of technical experts are called upon from other parts of the Group, including VAT and tax consultants, accountants, corporate management specialists and in-house lawyers. SMP Partners offers clients a wide range of services, including consultancy and support in securing the Isle of Man Gambling Licence, tax and corporate structuring, VAT consultancy, company formation and on-going corporate services, and utilises an extensive network of contacts within the gaming industry to facilitate introduction to banking, payment service and hosting providers, software development and testing companies.
