Manx Telecom has won a prestigious UK national honour for its new brand and identity refresh. The Island’s leading telecoms company was presented with a silver award in the Design Business Association (DBA) Design Effectiveness Awards which recognise the return on investment that a coherent, well thought out and professionally executed design strategy can achieve, and rewards both client and designer for their collaboration on an effective project.
Manx Telecom won the accolade in partnership with the Conran Design Group which worked on the brand and identity refresh which was launched in 2011. The judging panel comprised representatives from leading brands such as Nokia, GlaxoSmithKline, Marks and Spencer, Reckitt Benkiser, Unilever, Diageo, Samsung and Waitrose. The winners were announced at a ceremony on February 13 held at Tobacco Dock, London. The sell-out event – hosted by BBC Business Correspondent Simon Jack – saw over 500 guests gather to recognise and reward the significant impact that design can have on business success.
David Smith, Manx Telecom Marketing Director, said:
“We are very proud to win this accolade from the Design Business Association which is a just reward for all of the hard work that went into creating the brand – both from Manx Telecom and the Conran Design Group. The fact that we have been recognised by such an experienced and respected judging panel representing so many leading businesses is in itself a testament to the success of our brand. Its development and launch was an important milestone for Manx Telecom and it has played, and will continue to play, a key role in our strategy for growth.”
