Strong leads for Manx Telecom from ICE expo

by isleofman.com 10th February 2014

Manx Telecom returned from the ICE Totally Gaming expo at London’s ExCel with a number of strong leads. It’s the world’s biggest eGaming expo attracting over 20,000 gaming professionals from more than 100 countries, and this year’s event (which ran from February 4 to 6) was the first time the company has had its own stand. Stuart Paul, Manx Telecom Data Centres Director, said big data analytics was the company’s major focus, but there was also interest in Manx Telecom’s ?156million flotation on the AIM Market, investment in its new Greenhill Data Centre, and Intelligent Cloud product. He said: “Taking our own stand at ICE for the first time was a big step, but that decision is already starting to produce results and we returned with several strong leads. The quality and geographic spread of the leads was very high and even after day one of the expo our team back in the Isle of Man were able to start preparing a proposal for a prospective client. Working with Idiro Technologies on our Intelligent Analytics product we are now firmly in the big data analytics arena. There has already been a lot interest from potential clients keen to find out how Intelligent Analytics can help them develop a better and more detailed understanding of their customers.”

Mr Paul said that leads came from both the company’s own stand and the Isle of Man Government stand on which Manx Telecom also had a presence. On day two of ICE, Manx Telecom announced its flotation on the AIM Market in a move that will generate ?156million from institutional investors. Manx Telecom delegates at ICE were also able to deliver good news about the ?10million Greenhill Data Centre project with the first of three phases nearing completion and soon to open for business.

Mr Paul added that the company’s success at ICE this year was based on previous years attending the expo which has played a key role in raising the level of awareness of Manx Telecom in the eGaming sector. He added: “Our track record of attending ICE in recent years means that the conversations we are having with potential clients are now much more advanced. The potential clients we are meeting are very knowledgeable and they are looking to us for innovative ideas which enable them to take their businesses to the next level. With products such as Intelligent Analytics we can do just that.”

Big data analytics is a fast growing sector of the data hosting market and allows eGaming businesses to extract commercially useful information from the huge volumes of data generated from billions of dollars of transactions every year. Intelligent Analytics brings together Manx Telecom's industry leading hosting capability and Idiro Technologies’ predictive analytics software. Intelligent Analytics allows clients to improve segmentation and identification of high value players; target direct marketing activity for cross/up-selling; and leverage player influence within their social network. It can also identify and predict player purchase behaviour and defection and reduce exposure to risk and fraud.

Manx Telecom will be building on its success at ICE by attending another major international expo next month – the igaming Asia Congress in Macau (March 4th-6th).
