Manx Telecom is reporting some strong leads from the first day of the ICE Totally Gaming expo at London’s ExCel. It’s the world’s biggest eGaming expo attracting gaming professionals from more than 100 countries. Manx Telecom have their own stand (number N14-335) at ICE for the first time this year, and a particular focus for its presentation is big data analytics.
Speaking after the first day of ICE 2014 on February 4, Stuart Paul, Manx Telecom Data Centres Director, said: “The first day resulted in some strong leads and our team back in the Isle of Man are already working on a proposal for a prospective client.
Taking our own stand at ICE for the first time was a big step, but that decision is already starting to produce results. Working with Idiro Technologies on our Intelligent Analytics product we are now firmly in the big data analytics arena. There has already been a lot interest from potential clients keen to find out how Intelligent Analytics can help them develop a better and more detailed understanding of their customers.”
Mr Paul added that the company’s success at ICE 2014 is built on previous years attending the expo which has played a key role in raising the level of awareness of Manx Telecom in the eGaming sector. He added: “Our track record of attending ICE in recent years means that the conversations we are having with potential clients are now much more advanced. The potential clients we are meeting are very knowledgeable and they are looking to us for innovative ideas which enable them to take their businesses to the next level. With products such as Intelligent Analytics we can do just that.”
Big data analytics is a fast growing sector of the data hosting market and allows eGaming businesses to extract commercially useful information from the huge volumes of data generated from billions of dollars of transactions every year. Intelligent Analytics brings together Manx Telecom's industry leading hosting capability and Idiro Technologies’ predictive analytics software. Intelligent Analytics allows clients to improve segmentation and identification of high value players; target direct marketing activity for cross/up-selling; and leverage player influence within their social network. It can also identify and predict player purchase behaviour and defection and reduce exposure to risk and fraud.
Visitors to Manx Telecom’s stand at ICE have also been able to find out about the company’s second Tier 3 data centre and Intelligent Cloud product. Work on the Greenhill Data Centre began last autumn marking the start of a three-phase ?10million project. Phase one is scheduled to be open for business in Q1 2014. Located at the Isle of Man Business Park near to the company’s Douglas headquarters it will become Manx Telecom’s third data centre in addition to Douglas North and Douglas Central - and by far the biggest of any on the Island in terms of rack space. Greenhill will be constructed to the same Tier 3 world class specification and have the same industry accreditations as Douglas North.
