Could your business sponsor children’s charity golf day?

by isleofman.com 3rd February 2014

The Children’s Centre is appealing for an Isle of Man business to sponsor its annual charity golf day which is being held at Douglas Golf Club on June 20. This will be the eighth year in which the Island’s leading charity for families and children has organised the event. In that time it has raised a total in excess of ?45,000 – with funds going to support a variety of charitable projects which provide vital help to communities across the Island.

Susie Cox, Community Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre, said:

“Our golf day has become very popular over the years and it’s a very important fundraising initiative which supports our charitable projects such as Mobex, Out2Play, Child Contact Centre, Community Development and the Community Farm. We are seeking sponsorship so that every penny raised will go to supporting these projects. For a cost of ?3,000 to sponsor the golf day we provide fantastic branding opportunities, as well as a free team entry for the title sponsor. From PR, literature and signage, to online and social media exposure, affiliation with our golf day can be a great way to show how a business is supporting the Island’s community. But the golf day is also great fun, and for previous title sponsors and participants it has become a popular event for entertaining clients or for staff team-building. Previous sponsors of the golf day have been Domicilium, Appleby and MAC Financial. We’re extremely grateful for their support and would like to hear from other leading businesses interested in taking up this great opportunity to be the new title sponsor, or to take part in the event.”

As well as a title sponsor, The Children’s Centre is also looking to sign-up a minimum of 18 corporate teams to take part in the golf day. Entry costs ?300 for a team of four, or ?500 for two teams of four. Included in the entry fee are hot drinks and breakfast baps before play starts, refreshments around the course, and a two-course celebratory meal after play is completed. The Children’s Centre Golf Day Trophy will be awarded to the team winners, and there are individual spot prizes for ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘longest drive’.

If your business is interested in sponsoring the event, or taking part in the golf day, email Susie Cox at susiecox@thechildrenscentre.org.im or call 676076.
