The Junior Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the next event for 2014. Partnered alongside Ramsey Crookall, the presentation evening will provide an opportunity for professionals to learn about investment markets.
Back in 2009 the US Federal Reserve Bank (“the Fed”) embarked on a radical programme of so called ‘Quantitative Easing’ in an attempt to stop the US economy tipping in to depression. Four years later, with signs that the nascent economic recovery in the West is gathering pace, the Fed and other central banks find themselves at a crossroads. Will their accommodative monetary policies be ‘tapered’ back or have they gone beyond the point of no return, to QE infinity and beyond?
Peter Robertson, senior investment manager at Ramsey Crookall will give a short presentation investigating the impact of QE on the economic recovery and main asset classes and will also provide views on some other themes that might impact on investment markets in 2014.
“I am delighted to present to the JCC committee and its members and non-members,” said Peter. “Talking about how various things might impact the investment markets in the coming year is important. There is often much speculation, but I hope I will add some insight with my presentation.”
“I’d like to thank Ramsey Crookall for their continued support,” said Owen Cutajar, chairman of JCC IOM. “The committee and I are looking forward to Peter's talk as we all appreciate an expert opinion especially in times when markets are so difficult to read. We try to make sure our events calendar is packed with a variety of interesting events to suit all our members. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.”
