Poker players get behind Haiyan appeal

by isleofman.com 4th December 2013

Onchan-based Pokerstars says its players have so far raised half a million dollars for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

The company launched an appeal last month, asking players to donate through their online poker accounts and promising to match the funds raised.

Today is the final day of the appeal and the company says so far its users have donated more than $250,000.

All of the money raised will go the Care International charity to provide shelter, water and food to communities hit by the disaster.
