App to make hacks 'appy!

Tynwald's information executive has been praised for his app-design skills.

At UK Parliament Hack 2013 in London, Graeme Jones joined three teammates to design Westminster Stock Exchange, a computer app rating politicians on their political standing.
Users were then able to buy 'shares' in the politicians using real-time pricing that adjusted in line with opinion polls and election results.
The hack weekend brought together political activists and policy advisers with coders and data specialists, in a challenge to build rapid protoypes using data released for the event, which was held on 16 and 17 November at the start of UK Parliament Week.

The application won Best in Show and Mr Jones has been invited to join a 14-week intensive bootcamp to continue working on the idea.

Back on the Island, Mr Jones is a member of the Office of the Clerk of Tynwald and the Isle of Man chairman of the British Computer Society.
