Taste of winter beyond the wardrobe door

An Island business is hoping interest in a unique pop-up restaurant in the capital will snowball in the run-up to Christmas!
A Narnia experience awaits customers who venture 'Beyond the Wardrobe' at the Velvet Lobster on North Quay, under new owners.
It's a vote of confidence by Island-based Rock Food Concepts, which also operates 14 North, in the draw the upgraded harbour side has for food lovers.
References to the CS Lewis children's classic stories begin when diners enter through heavy wardrobe doors, to part fur-lined drapes before stepping into a winter wonderland, a lamp post mural at its centre.
The pop-up's opening this week marks the 50th anniversary of the author's death. Specially-created cocktails and winter dishes reflect the books' themes and characters while fur coats are available to rent for those who want to step outside.
Rock Food Concepts owner Nigel Taylor says his long term aim from such ventures is to market the Isle of Man as a food and beverage destination:
