Boston Flies the Flag in Dubai

by isleofman.com 26th November 2013

Local family office and fiduciary services provider, Boston Group hosted its second event with global brand ambassador and former British & Irish Lions rugby player, Scott Gibbs. Following on from the inaugural event in October in Mayfair, London, Boston hosted a drinks and canapes networking event at Dubai’s The Capital Club, a prestigious private business and social club located within the Dubai International Financial Centre.

The event brought together a mix of local intermediaries, existing clients in the region and prospective clients. Group CEO Greg Ellison welcomed guests to the event and gave an overview of Boston’s expertise in fiduciary, family office and venture capital services in both the Isle of Man and Malta. Scott reinforced Boston’s credentials, outlined his own business interests from the relationship with Boston and also delighted the audience with some anecdotes from his sporting and commercial careers.

Greg commented after the event: “Scott did a fantastic job. He is incredibly well connected around the world and particularly in the Middle East where he spends several months every year broadcasting for the OSN network. One notable guest from last night was the Chief Financial Officer of a large Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund. There are massive opportunities in the UAE if you go after them properly and we're taking steps in the right direction. Scott is assisting us superbly and he’s also great fun to work with.”

The Capital Club soiree concluded a week long tour of the Middle East and Asia for Directors Katherine Ellis and Phil Knop who had both been in Hong Kong and Singapore prior to flying into Dubai for the event and meetings.
