Appleby Isle of Man has welcomed two new recruits as it continues to grow and strengthen its legal team.
Orla Tynan joined the firm as a trainee advocate in the litigation and insolvency team in August. Born in Ireland, Orla moved to the Isle of Man and studied at King William’s College. She then moved to The College of Law Bloomsbury, where she studied part time whilst working at Addleshaw Goddard.
Shortly after, Appleby welcomed Alicia Cain into its corporate and commercial practice. Alicia is a qualified solicitor (in England & Wales) and brings experience in a broad range of areas including pensions, trusts and corporate law to the firm. Born on the Island and educated at Ramsey Grammar School, Alicia moved to London where she completed her legal training at Baker & McKenzie and practised as a pensions solicitor. She is fluent in French and also speaks Italian and German.
Managing partner, Sean Dowling, commented on the new appointments: “It always gives me great pleasure to welcome new talent to Appleby. It is an exciting time for Alicia and Orla to join us. They are now part of our growing team working with leading local and international companies on complex and challenging work. I wish them every success with their careers here.”
