Strand Group companies, Strand Facilities Services and Storall have renewed their ISO 27001 and ISO9001 quality standards under the scheme’s annual appraisal rules. The companies have held the prestigious quality standards for five years and were among the first local companies to obtain ISO27001. Strand Facilities Services still remains the only company in its sector to have achieved the standard on the Island.
IS027001, an information security management standard, ensures that adequate controls addressing confidentiality, integrity and availability of information are in place to safeguard client information. John Hellowell, Strand Group’s Chairman said, ‘These standards are important in all aspects of our business particularly in facilities management where we are key holders for over 200 companies including several Banks. They are also essential for the document scanning, storage and destruction work carried out by group company, Storall’.
Storall is also accredited under ISO 9001, a quality management standard. ‘This ensures we focus on our customers’ requirements so that we can better meet their needs’, added Mr Hellowell. ‘With many of the largest businesses on the Island as customers, and a number of Government contracts too, we strive not just to give excellent service but to be constantly looking for ways to improve. When the ISO9001 approach to quality is embedded across the business every member of the team understands how their actions create a better customer experience and processes are put in place to continually review and improve that customer experience,’ said Mr Hellowell.
Strand Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. It has grown from just two people to being one of the Island’s biggest privately owned employers. It currently has a staff of 130.
