Greg Ellison, CEO of Boston Group, an international family office and fiduciary services provider, has been named one of the Top 50 Most Influential People of 2013 by Private Client Practitioner, a leading magazine for private client professionals.
The 50 Most Influential awards began with an open call for nominations for those private client practitioners based in the UK and UK offshore who have had a real impact on their profession. Each nomination was judged by PAM Insight, a provider of news, analysis and data to the industry, on its strength, the merits of the individual nominated and PAM Insight’s market knowledge.
The Private Client Practitioner 50 Most Influential celebrates “the movers and shakers within the UK private client advisory professions” and showcases the breadth and depth of talent at the forefront of the private client profession today. Those nominated are described as ‘the leaders when it comes to providing the best possible service for clients and innovation in the way the needs of wealthy individuals are met. These are the people’, Private Client Practitioner explains, ‘who set the standard which others strive to follow.’
The selection process assesses the individual’s achievements, their impact on how wealthy individuals are served, who nominated them and the total number of nominations they received.
Established in 2002, Boston Group is an independent, privately owned fiduciary, family office and professional services firm with headquarters in the Isle of Man. In 2012, the Group opened offices in Malta, where it has recently been awarded a licence to offer Trust administration services. Mr Ellison joined the Group from Barclays Wealth in 2011 to oversee its rapid expansion to one of the Island’s largest and most established financial services providers, with additional specialties in eGaming, yachts and aircraft.
Commenting on his nomination, Greg stated: “I’m thrilled to be named by such an esteemed publication and to join the ranks of private client advisory professionals who consistently strive to enhance our industry both in terms of its reputation and the services we provide to our clients. As I’m sure other nominees would agree, however, all of this simply would not be achievable without the support and talent of our colleagues; those individuals who together form the backbone of a dynamic and constantly evolving industry that plays a key part in developing the firm’s and the Island’s economic future. I would like to thank Private Client Practitioner, my colleagues at Boston and, of course, my clients for this prestigious nomination.”
