Boost for Island's bio-med cluster

Organisers of a conference for the bio-medicine industry hope it will encourage more firms to locate in the Isle of Man and join the growing Manx bio-med business cluster.
Next month's event will promote the Island as an ideal base for fledgling or niche firms with developed products or techniques, ready to take the next step into the market.

The conference has attracted an impressive line-up of speakers including Baroness Professor Susan Greenfield, a high-profile neuroscientist currently involved with a biomed firm developing treatments for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
The conference is being organised by Courtenay Heading, Biomed Inward Investment Manager for the Manx government.
He says the Island has the expertise and drive to help firms ready for that last push to get their business off the ground:
