Oral Evidence in Public session re Countryside Care Scheme

The Environment and Infrastructure Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, will take oral evidence at 2.30 pm on Wednesday 22nd November 2013 from:

Hon P A Gawne MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA); and
Mr R Lole, Chief Executive, DEFA.

A second oral evidence session is being planned for 5th December when representatives from IOM Creamery Limited, IOM Meats and Laxey Glen Mills Limited will be giving evidence on the impact of the Countryside Care Scheme on their businesses.

These oral evidence sessions are being organized in response to the following remit set by Tynwald Court on 21st May 2013:-

“That the matter of current agricultural policy, particularly in respect of the Countryside Care Scheme, the meat plant and associated matters, be referred to the Environment and Infrastructure Committee to report by December 2013.”

Members of the public are welcome to attend the oral evidence session.
