The ongoing success of Standard Bank’s Isle of Man IFA distribution team has led to the appointment of Ben Watson as Business Development Manager, Africa. The Standard Bank IFA team manage the relationship between Standard Bank and independent financial advisers around the world, by providing products tailor made for the IFA market.

Ben will be reporting to John Hall, Head of IFA distribution: ‘Ben’s appointment comes at an interesting time for us as we continue expanding our network of independent financial advisers in Africa. Ben brings with him a wealth of experience in dealing with African IFAs and we feel sure he will continue the team’s work in this exciting and economically dynamic continent.’

Ben will be based in the Isle of Man office. He joins Standard Bank from Royal Skandia where he was Sales Consultant Middle East & Africa. Ben is looking forward to joining the IFA distribution team: ‘Africa is an incredibly exciting continent at the moment with huge economic growth and rising personal wealth. I am looking forward to concentrating on this area of the world and continuing the success of the team at Standard Bank.’

Ben is married and has lived in the Isle of Man for 14 years. He enjoys travelling and is a keen golfer, but is kept busy at home with his two young children.
