PwC in the Isle of Man has again recruited another high calibre intake of graduates on their professional training programme. Six graduates and one school leaver have joined the Assurance practice and are embarking on their career with the firm.
PwC continues to receive high levels of interest for its graduate roles with applications more than tripling since the start of the financial crisis in 2008. PwC is proud to retain its high acclaimed top graduate recruiter status for a record tenth consecutive year by The Times.
Samantha Pemberton HR Manager, said:
“Although routes into work and training have evolved over the past five years, the interest we’re seeing in our training proposition shows that there has not been a wholesale shift away from traditional routes into the world of work. The recession has meant the best and brightest remain attracted by what has always been an excellent way to start a business career.”
Nicola Shepstone People Partner, said;
“Despite the expense associated with university and with the tough employment environment for graduates, a university degree remains an attractive way of demonstrating the skills that employers need. However, with such fierce competition for graduate roles, you need to ensure you are thinking about your career options as early as your first year of university. By supplementing degree study with work experience and engaging with employers, you can maximise the value of your university experience and boost your employability.
“For those students who don't think university is for them, there are opportunities to train and gain a professional qualification which can be a great alternative to university. The key is to ensure that from A Level you make the decision that is right for your future career.”
To qualify for a PwC student opportunity, you would need 300 UCAS points or a minimum of 32 International Baccalaureate points and if attending university a predicted 2:1 in your chosen degree. The degree doesn't necessarily have to be in maths or accountancy, in fact we accept students from a variety of disciplines.
In addition to the student’s qualifications, it is essential that you have the ability to build and sustain relationships and have the aptitude to make a positive impact on our clients and us, while developing and shaping your own career.
During your time with PwC as a student, you will have the opportunity to develop your skill sets and progress your career through this dynamic and fast paced industry. PwC continually strives to offer an excellent graduate and school leaver experience and it’s the quality of our offering that attracts high calibre students to PwC. This is why PwC has been voted number one for its graduate recruitment for the past ten years.
