Family firm stamps mark on industry

A small-scale Manx family business competing in an industry dominated by a part-public institution is celebrating five years successful trading.
Signed, Sealed and Delivered Ltd offers bulk mailing services on behalf of companies, charities and other organisations.
It reckons to have handled more than a third of a million letters in the past half decade.
From community groups to general election candidates, the firm's promise to save clients money on their postage costs, mail shots and fulfilment is attracting interest, not only in the Island but according to SSAD Managing Director Tommy Harrison, increasingly from UK companies.
The family start-up is competing in the same market as Isle of Man Post Office's Integrated Mailing Solutions operation.
Mr Harrison says he saw the potential demand for a new business while stuffing envelopes:
