Grant Thornton tops UK Graduate poll

by isleofman.com 16th October 2013

A major survey naming Grant Thornton as top graduate employer has been welcomed by the firm’s Senior Partner in the Isle of Man.

Dennis McGurgan said he was pleased but not surprised that the firm where he has worked for 26 years had been identified as favourite among graduate interns.

He added: “I’m delighted that Grant Thornton has been recognised as a top graduate employer. Participants in the survey were asked to consider and rate companies based on values, experience, skills, training, the level of responsibility given to them and corporate culture. The calibre of the companies that Grant Thornton were measured against were excellent, from worldwide software providers to rival accountancy firms.”

“It is a credit to the firm that the current graduates continue to recognise Grant Thornton as a top graduate employer. At the Grant Thornton Isle of Man office, we invest in our staff, ensuring that we offer qualified advice across audit, taxation and accounts preparation.”

Grant Thornton topped the anonymous survey with a score of 8.66 out of a possible 10, ahead of nearest rival Microsoft. The poll of 6,000 graduate interns from 75 UK companies was conducted by online student placement, internships and work experience website ratemyplacement.co.uk

Each year, Grant Thornton employs more than 300 graduates, placement students and students across a network of offices, providing practical hands-on experience and the opportunity to complete professional qualifications.
