Leading equity strategist Will Hobbs will visit the Isle of Man next month to address the Association of Corporate Service Providers.
Mr Hobbs, Head of Equity Strategy at Barclays, will lead a seminar entitled “Global Economic Outlook for 2014” during the Association’s meeting on Tuesday, October 22. The meeting is open to staff of member firms and associate members of the ACSP.
The lunchtime presentation on global macro-economic conditions will explore the opportunities and risks in current global markets, and audience members will have the chance to contribute to the seminar and ask questions.
After working as an equity sector analyst and equity strategist at Gerrard Investment Management, Mr Hobbs joined the Equity Research team at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in October 2005, covering the global consumer sector. He has since moved into the strategy team and now runs global equity strategy for the EMEA division. A fellow of the Securities Institute, Will has more than 10 years’ experience in the financial sector and is studying towards a Masters in international business and economic development at Birbeck College.
Stuart Nelson, Head of Corporate and Intermediary Banking at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Isle of Man, said: “Will is an experienced equity strategist whose analysis of the global economy provides an informed insight into the current situation and, vitally, what the future holds.”
“His forecasts are based on his own knowledge and experience coupled with the research conducted globally by Barclays, and this talk will give fiduciary service providers in the Isle of Man a realistic picture of the economic position that is unfolding, and a clear idea of the value of planning to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.”
