Barclays Wealth and Investment Management is sponsoring a special event to mark the 25th anniversary of the Isle of Man branch of the Institute of Directors.
The branch was founded in November 1988, and to celebrate is hosting a lunch reception which will be attended by Simon Walker, Director General of the Institute.
The Institute of Directors is a long-established organisation for professional leaders, dedicated to supporting approximately 36,000 members by encouraging entrepreneurial activity and promoting responsible business practice for the benefit of the business community and society.

South African-born Mr Walker became Director General of the Institute in 2011. During a career which started in journalism, he has served as Communications Secretary to HM The Queen at Buckingham Palace and worked as a special adviser in the Prime Minister's Policy Unit at 10 Downing Street.
The former Oxford Union President has also been Chief Executive of the BVCA, the organisation that represents British private equity and venture capital, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing at Reuters, a partner at public relations group Brunswick and Director of European Public Affairs for Hill & Knowlton in Brussels.
