Ubuntu beta out

Manx-based software company Canonical has released a beta testing version of its Ubuntu Linux operating system.

Version 13.10, codenamed Saucy Salamander, is available today.

It makes some technical changes to the system – particularly in terms of its desktop graphics stack.

The finished product is due to be released in October.
