Heritage Homes site manager wins ‘Pride in the Job’ Award

by isleofman.com 23rd August 2013

A site manager from Heritage Homes has won his third National House-Building Council (NHBC) Award ahead of tough competition in the Northern Ireland and Isle of Man region.

Shaun O’Boyle received acknowledgment for his work on the Croit ny Glionney development in Colby. His win came in the medium category for developers building between 51 and 1,000 units per year in the Northern Ireland and Isle of Man region.

The prestigious NHBC ‘Pride in the Job Quality Awards’ recognise excellence in working practices, site management and team motivation skills and follow a rigorous judging process, whereby nominees are assessed against criteria such as consistency, health and safety, leadership and technical expertise.

Dandara managing director Seamus Nugent commented, “Shaun has been with us for 20 years and has always taken great pride in what he does, which is clearly evident at Croit ny Glionney.  I am delighted that he has received this independent industry recognition for his dedication. It really is a great accolade and fully deserved.”

Commenting on his achievement, Shaun said, “This award is more than just a personal achievement, its proof of the great team effort and wouldn’t have been possible without the support from all of the tradesmen on site”.

Judges from the NHBC Supreme judging panel will be visiting the Island to see Shaun and the Croit ny Glionney Development prior to the Gala ceremony in Belfast this November, where Shaun is also in the running for the ‘Seal of Excellence’ and overall ‘Regional Winner’s’ awards.
