Kestrel Insurance buy JM Pearson

by isleofman.com 15th August 2013

Local Broker, Kestrel Insurance, known for their Manxman policies, have completed the purchase of another Island based Insurance Broker, JM Pearson & Co. After over 30 years in the Industry the founder, Mike Pearson, decided it was time to retire. After careful consideration Kestrel Insurance was selected to take over the business and care for their loyal clients. All of JM Pearsons’ clients were notified of the change last week.

Alan Burrows, Kestrel’s Chairman, commented “This is an exciting development for all of us at Kestrel Insurance. We are delighted to welcome the members of staff from JM Pearson into our team. Clients will be able to use all four of our branches, in Douglas, Onchan, Ramsey and Peel. For existing JM Pearson clients there are many advantages of this change; we have locally tailored policies which give great added benefits, we are well known for our excellent customer service and we are always trying to save our clients money. We also have an in house claims department which deals completely with Manxman Motor and Home policies, so clients making a claim can get face to face help from a local claims handler who understands our Island and its quirks. In addition, with branches located across the Island it is more convenient for clients to go to premises closer to them. Commercial and Life Assurance clients will also benefit, as Kestrel have separate dedicated departments which specialise in these more complex areas of Insurance.

“Over the last few years we have enjoyed continuous growth, despite a difficult economic climate, but we refuse to be complacent. We are always looking for ways to enhance our offering, provide a better service and save our client’s money, which we feel is one of the reasons why we have succeeded. By buying JM Pearson & Co not only will this assist with our growth strategy but it also means that are continuing to serve the Island and local people.”
