Nedbank Private Wealth is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Bates to Head of its Middle East and Asia operation. Based in the UAE, Andrew will join Mark Leale, Regional Manager of the bank’s Dubai office.
Andrew has been with the bank for over nine years, initially in the Isle of Man, then moving to London to oversee the successful launch of its UK office, and now to Dubai to expand the bank’s growth internationally in both the private client and intermediary sectors. He has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry and joined the bank from Lloyds TSB Bank in Miami, where he was responsible for promoting banking and investment services to clients in South America.
Commenting on the appointment, Greg Horton, managing director of Nedbank Private Wealth, said: “I am delighted that Andrew has accepted this new appointment to our senior management team. We opened our Middle East office in April 2011 in order to serve our existing clients in the region, and now that it is firmly established, we are experiencing rapid growth there, as well as further afield in the Far East. It is a very exciting time for the bank as we continue to develop our presence and raise the profile of our asset management offering internationally.”
“This senior appointment demonstrates our commitment to the region, where we see tremendous growth potential for the bank. I am confident that Andrew will make a significant contribution to the expansion of Nedbank Private Wealth’s business across these locations and I wish him every success in his new role”.
Andrew Bates added: “I am very much looking forward to my relocation for this new appointment and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to build upon the bank’s success by introducing our award winning products and client service approach into this international arena.”
Nedbank Private Wealth was this year voted Best International Wealth Provider for the fifth year running in the Professional Adviser International Fund and Product Awards. The Bank has also had success in this year’s Euromoney awards with an outright win of the category Best Private Bank for High Net Worth Clients US$1m to US$10m, and an equal first for Relationship Management, both for the Jersey region, in the Global Award Categories.
