Moore Stephens Isle of Man, leading providers of multi-sector accountancy, consultancy and wealth management services, celebrated their maritime tradition with their sponsorship of the 5th Moore Stephens Douglas regatta and the support of two local children’s charities.
“The sea inspires teamwork and initiative; the historic links between Moore Stephens and the global business of the sea and, here on the Island, our identification with the yachting community, means that we attach great significance to supporting events like this,” said Clive Dixon, senior partner in Moore Stephens Isle of Man. “We’re proud to support this event, as well as our friends at the Douglas Bay Yacht Club and especially happy to help two special causes dear to our hearts.”
Organised by the Douglas Bay Yacht Club, this year’s regatta saw 10 yachts competing in five races, over two days. Crew were treated to a barbeque on the Saturday evening followed by a prize presentation on the Sunday afternoon where Tango and his crew were presented with the first prize.
This year Moore Stephens’ fundraising was on behalf of Wish Upon a Dream, an Isle of Man charity granting wishes for sick and terminally ill children living on the Island and The Children’s Centre, an independent Manx charity that develops, manages and pioneers community initiatives and services aimed at enabling children, young people and families to realise their full potential.
“We were so pleased that for the fifth year in a row the regatta ran smoothly in glorious Manx sunshine; everyone had a great time,” said Chris Hall, commodore of the Douglas Bay Yacht Club. “But it would not have been such a great success without the continued support and enthusiasm of Moore Stephens and its staff.”
