Strict rules on sending potentially dangerous goods to the UK by post from the Island are being relaxed from today (15 July).
Details of the changes which have been agreed with the Civil Aviation Authority, have been announced by Isle of Man Post making restrictions and prohibitions identical to those applied by the Royal Mail.
Customers can now post toiletries and medicinal aerosols to the UK, along with nail varnishes, perfumes and aftershave.
The new rules also mean electrical equipment containing lithium batteries can be sent by mail, as well as alcohol which is packaged so as not to pose a risk, should bottles break.
Isle of Man Post is warning customers restrictions on what can be sent by mail abroad remain more stringent. Customers are advised to check on the post office web site iompost.com for details.
Posters and leaflets explaining what may be posted and in what quantities are available in every post office across the Island.
