Moore Stephens Isle of Man, a leading provider of multi sector accountancy, consultancy and wealth management services, is pleased to announce that graduate trainee Christa Worth recently collected the Watts prize for achieving a staggering 95%, the highest mark worldwide for the Audit and Assurance paper.
“I am really proud of what she has achieved and Christa can rightly be extremely proud of herself,” said Dawn Webb, audit partner in Moore Stephens Isle of Man. “She is the first Manx student to win the Watts prize for a long time and it was wonderful to be with her as she collected her prize.”
Accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the International prize was established by the Chartered Accountants Dining Society in memory of Ethel Watts, the first woman to be admitted to membership in 1924.
Christa was presented her award by Arthur Bailey, vice president of ICAEW at the prestigious international prize-giving ceremony in the Chartered Accountants' Hall in London in front of 500 people, alongside her family and Dawn Webb.
“It was really exciting going to London and collecting my prize,” enthused Christa. “Winning the Watts prize has finally sunk in. It’s such a tremendous award – I’m really honoured that I won it.”
Christa, who is a graduate trainee, joined Moore Stephens Isle of Man in 2011 having gained a First Class BA Honours degree in Business Management at the Isle of Man Business School.
