Representatives of Kreston IOM, one of the Isle of Man’s leading independent providers of Trust, Fiduciary and Corporate Services, have just returned from a successful trip to Kreston International’s Annual EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Conference that took place at the Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan, in the heart of Sofia, Bulgaria, on 16-19 May 2013.
Over 100 delegates from 24 countries attended the event.
Representatives Victoria Reynolds, Head of Client Accounting and Samantha Willis, Trust and Company Team Leader from Kreston IOM, joined their international counterparts for the conference, which focused mainly on tax and audit issues, with other sessions on networking, business development, transfer pricing and fraud.
The business agenda commenced with a special welcome from the host firm Kreston Bulmar, and Boris Stefanov, CEO of Invest Bulgaria, who gave an overview of the Bulgarian economy and the opportunities for foreign direct investment.
Kreston’s CEO, Jon Lisby also provided an update on the network’s global strategy, following the recent news that the Kreston International Network has risen to be the 13th largest accounting network in the world.
For the final session, delegates experienced a lively and interactive session delivered by guest speaker, Derek Arden, an international expert and author on negotiating and body language skills.
Commenting on the conference, Victoria Reynolds said:
“It was truly remarkable to see the scale of Kreston International at the Conference, with representatives from across the globe. It just reminds us of the strong position that we are in, as part of the Network. We have the ability to tap into expertise and connections of member firms all over the world, which are growing every year.”
The conference follows the recent acquisition of Momentum Pensions Limited in the Isle of Man in 2012, and the acquisition of EIS Advisors in 2011.
