Views sought on broadcast licence

by isleofman.com 24th May 2013

The Communications Commission is asking for the views of the Manx public on the single applicant for a broadcast licence currently up for grabs.

Existing operator Energy FM's licence, one of three in the Island, expires in July.

The music station was the only applicant and feedback on its proposals are needed by 4 June.

The regulator says it's looking for a station serving the 15 to 35 age group, offering a mix of contemporary and chart music, enertainment, news and sport, all with a local focus.

The Communications Commission is interested in views on a range of issues.

These include whether the proposed service would broaden choice for Island residents and cater for tastes different from those already served by the other two radio stations, Manx Radio and 3FM.
